Welcome to TapDeposit ("we," "our," or "us"). This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our web application (the "App").

A. For Merchants (Users)

  • Identity data: business name and email address.
  • Account data: authentication details provided via our auth provider.
  • Financial data: we do not store your bank account details. We store your Stripe Account ID (acct_...) to facilitate payouts via Stripe Connect.
  • Usage data: details of the deposit links you create (price, service name, date).

B. For Clients (Payers)

  • Transaction data: when you pay a deposit, we record the amount, timestamp, and status of the payment. We do not store card numbers; Stripe handles those directly.
  • Verification data: to assist merchants in preventing disputes, we collect your IP address and a digital timestamp when you tick the "I agree to Terms" checkbox. This serves as proof of contract acceptance.
  • Contact data: name or reference provided by the merchant.

3. How we use your data

  • Provide the service: generate deposit links and process payments via Stripe.
  • Fraud prevention: capture IP addresses to verify policy acceptance in the event of a dispute.
  • Communication: send payment receipts and booking confirmations via email.
  • Improvement: analyze usage trends to improve the App.

4. Third-party services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate our service. We do not sell your data.

5. Data retention
